Lahore: The Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has stated that efforts are underway for safe recovery of Pakistanis in Afghanistan, who were reportedly taken hostage after their helicopter crash landed in Logar province.

He said this while talking to the families of Colonel (R) Shafique and Colonel (R) Safdar today. He said military and political leadership is in contact with the government of Afghanistan and they will be soon recovered.

The helicopter owned by government of Punjab was on its way to Russia via Afghanistan, for repair with seven people aboard where it crash landed.
