LAHORE - The ruling party is making bids to amend the criminal procedure to save their skin in Model Town incident, claimed PAT chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri yesterday.

Addressing a press conference at party’s central secretariat, Dr Qadri claimed that the government is making preparations to amend 1898 criminal law to save their skin in Model Town case.

“Article 200 to 204 of 1898 Act, are to be amended by the government to save the persons nominated in Model Town incident FIR. Proposed amendments have been sent to Islamabad for further action,” added the PAT chairman.

The proposal for amending the criminal law came at a time when a petition of PAT for filing a case against the ruling family members is under hearing in an Anti-Terrorism court, he claimed.

Section 154 and 190 would be slashed in criminal justice law but the PAT and other opposition parties would not let the ruling party to do that, he maintained.  Dr Qadri said Qisas Movement will be launched on August 6 by following its later phase-wise plans come what may and his party will not rest till getting justice for the victims of Model Town massacre.
