LAHORE - Punjab inspector general of police Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera yesterday constituted children rescue teams to deal with cases related to missing and runway kids.

According to a police spokesperson, the police teams headed by two inspectors would be responsible to rescue and re-unite the runaway children them with their families.

They would also launch search operations in hotspot areas of big cities including railways station, bus stands, shrines, and hotels. Similarly, the progress report of these teams will be furnished before the provincial police chief on daily basis.

Meanwhile, the Punjab police chief said that the organizers would have to get prior approval from the district intelligence committees for holding activities to celebrate Independence Day. The district intelligence committees comprise of DCO, DPO and representatives of intelligence agencies in each district.

The police were directed to ensure best security arrangements on the eve of Independence Day particularly at vulnerable points including government installations, sensitive buildings, banks, offices, business centers, public parks, and important highways.
