“Still I have dined with kings, I’ve been offered wings. And I’ve never been too impressed – All this talk about equality. The only thing people really have in common is that they are all going to die...”

–Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan has been awarded the Nobel Prize for literature for the year 2016, due to his contribution and advancements to the sentiments of popular culture. Several other critically acclaimed writer’s protested at this choice of the Nobel Committee. However, the true controversy arose from the fact that Bob Dylan himself did not even initially respond to his winning the award because of what many claim he believes is a capitalist entity and the true caliber of an artist cannot be measured by such rudimentary awards. He is truly a great man who stayed true to the essence of his lyrics and his words which clearly manifests how the slow and steady manipulation of mass mindset is rampant in today’s world, a world in which Obama, who has been recorded as the US President to conduct the largest amount of drone attacks around the globe, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009.
