MULTAN/ KHANEWAL/ HAFIZABAD - Like other parts of the country, all set to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi (SAWW) with full religious fervour here on Sunday (today).

Almost all important public and private buildings including State Bank of Pakistan, Town Hall, Nawa-i-Waqt Tower, State Life, private banks, schools and colleges have been illuminated. The traders and citizens have also decorated markets, bazaars and streets with colourful bunting and lights. Security has been beefed up as heavy contingents are deployed at all important and sensitive places, chowks, entry and exit points of the city to foil any bid to disrupt peace.

According to police sources 1870 cops, 250 police officers and 19 other officials will perform 12 Rabiul Awwal security duty. Security agencies are learnt to have installed close circuit cameras on routes of Eid Milad processions with a view to keeping secret vigil on anti-social elements. Similarly, plain-clothed cops are also deployed in entire city.

Meanwhile, the home department and Inspector General Railway Police have issued separate orders under which the holidays of cops and civil defence as well as bomb disposal officials have been cancelled. Sources said that security has been tightened at all railway stations of Punjab province while special contingents are deployed at all mosques and imam bargahs situated in premises of Pakistan Railway. On the other hand, the Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) has also adopted a number of measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply on Eid Milad un Nabi (SAWW) as a makeshift control room is set up at circle headquarters for ensuring power supply to Multan circle. The district administration is learnt to have decided to use sniffing dogs to foil any terror plot while the bomb disposal squad and ambulances will accompany the processions to avert any untoward incident.

KHANEWAL: In all four tehsils of Khanewal district preparations for celebrations of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH),and passion reached fever pitch in both cities as well as villages. People are seen busy decorating roads, bazaars, important buildings and shopping centres with colourful bunting, banners and fancy lights.

HAFIZABAD: Brisk preparations are afoot to observed Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) with religious fervour and enthusiasm on Sunday amid tight security.

The District police have made foolproof arrangements to maintain peaceful on this sacred day. Almost all the NGOs, religious organization including Sunni Tehreek, Dawat-i-Islami, Minhajul Quran, Ahle Sunnat Jamaat’s workers and students were busy in decorating thoroughfares and illuminating bazaars and streets in the city for the past few days.

According to press release of different organizations, the procession would be taken out from Chowk Milad on Vanike Road here Sunday morning, which would be led by Barrister Syed Waseemul Hassan Naqvi, Syed Fida Hussain Shah, Syed Usman Naqvi of Sunni Tehrik, Rana Asghar Chishti of Ahle Sunnat, Faisal Kailani, Qari Ghulam Mustafa and Hafiz Yousaf.
