SIALKOT - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that all necessary arrangements were being made to commence Chinese language at school level across the country.

Speaking as chief guest at Mehfil-e-Milad held at Roots school system on Saturday, she said that the steps were being taken for popularizing the Chinese language among the masses and prepare future nursery.

China is our trustworthy friend which has always supported Pakistan on every issue at internationally and imparting Chinese language will leave far-reaching effects on the efforts to enhancing bilateral trade between Pakistan and China at this crucial juncture,” she said. The Information Minister said that language was main hurdle in increasing bilateral trade between two friendly countries, adding that efforts would be made for starting Chinese language classes in this export-oriented city and hub of cottage industry of the country to facilitate business community and general public.

In this regard Roots School system was playing pivotal in popularizing the Chinese language and about 2,000 children were learning the language she added. The Information Minister said that private sector was playing an instrumental role in the promotion and expansion of education and the role of private sector was highly laudable.

Dr Firdous on the occasion stressed on the people that they should shun their diminutive difference for the larger national interests and work collectively for forging unity and brotherhood in the country.

Islam is the religion of peace, brotherhood and tolerance and let us pledged on the eve of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) to work for peace and brotherhood for defusing the misconceptions about Islam,” Dr Firdous argued.

The minister further stated that best way to pay tribute to Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) the greatest educators of mankind was to follow the principles of Islam and golden teaching of the Prophet.

She paid rich tributes to Kashmiris and said that Pakistan would continue its moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris. Pakistan wants the settlement of longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with aspirations of Kashmiris and according to United Nations Resolutions for maintaining the permanent peace in the region,” she said. The minister appealed to the people that they take active part in Kashmir Solidarity Day for expressing complete solidarity with Kashmiris brethren of held Kashmir because they were suffering state terrorism.

Chairman Rumi Foundation and Principle of Roots school system also spoke on the occasion. A large number of girls students participated in Mehfil-e-Milad. On the occasion special Dua was offered for the unity, prosperity and solidarity of the country.
