MIRPUR (AJK) - Every year on February 5, Kashmir Solidarity Day is being celebrated throughout the world including Pakistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir to promote and infuse more strength to the Kashmiris’ indigenous struggle for freedom of their motherland against the illegal Indian occupation.

Talking to media here on Saturday, former AJK Legislative Assembly Speaker and PML-N AJK chapter Central Organising Secretary Shah Ghulam Qadir said his party had made elaborated programmes to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day across Pakistan and AJK on Sunday (today) to reiterate full solidarity and support to Jammu & Kashmir people in their just and principled struggle for the liberation of Indian-held Kashmir.

“Special scheduled ceremonies will be held in all major and small towns across the AJK. It will, indeed, be the manifestation of Pakistan’s deep-rooted love and affection which she have for the people of Jammu & Kashmir extending moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris’ legitimate right to self-determination,” he added.

“The Kashmir Solidarity Day would be observed with renewed resolve and the entire Pakistani nation would stand shoulder-to-shoulder by their Kashmiri brethren on the day as it has done since its inception,” he said.

Qadir said, “The national stance over Kashmir issue by the people and every political party in Pakistan is crystal clear that the resolution of Kashmir issue should be in line with the aspirations and wishes of the Kashmiri people.”

He said that the Jammu & Kashmir people were always grateful to the people of Pakistan who strongly advocate the Kashmir cause with firm belief in the early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue. Peace and prosperity of this region routes through early peaceful solution of Kashmir, he declared.

“The Solidarity Day also reminds us of the sacrifices rendered by thousands of Kashmiris and this renews our commitment to the resolution of the longstanding dispute,” the Kashmiri leader said.

He said the Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) would reiterate their commitment for the Kashmir cause on the day and the entire Pakistani nation would rejuvenate their commitment to support the Kashmiris, he added.
