He may only be 17 years old but he has already been earmarked as being one for the future. Young Mohammad Aamer has had a real good start to his international cricket so far. After his good showing at the Twenty20 World Cup, Aamer showed his talent yet again when he bowled appreciably well on his Test debut on day one of the first Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Galle. Aamer took a wicket in his very first over in Test cricket when he induced an inside edge from the bat of Malinda Warnapura. Aamer, who was bowling at a lively pace could have got another wicket but Shoaib Malik dropped a catch in slips. But the young pacer wasn't discouraged and continued to bowl well. Soon after he accounted for the Sri Lankan captain and their best batsman Kumar Sangakkara when the classy batsman edged one into slips where Shoaib Malik took the catch. Aamer could have got Jayawrdene as well but this time Kamran Akmal missed a straightforward chance. Aamer was well appreciated by Waqar Younis in the commentary box. Waqar complimented Aamer as future Wasim Akram as uses his shoulders . It was a hot and humid day with almost no assistance in the pitch for the fast bowlers but Aamer continued to toil hard. First ball after tea Aamer accounted for Tillakaratne Dilshan. Aamer took 3-74 off 19 overs. Pakistan should be careful in using Aamer on this trip given his frail structure.
