Prime Minister Gilani has approached Saudi Arabia over the arrested Pakistani nationals in drug smuggling case and Saudi authorities have responded positively over the request for delay in the prosecution of the arrested Pakistani family, foreign office spokesman said here in a briefing. Foreign Office Spokesman Abdul Basit has said that the prime minister has directed the Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Interior and the Anti Narcotics Force to investigate and clarify the matter. According to the investigation so far, the arrested Pakistani family is innocent and the information collected has been exchanged with the Saudi authorities, the spokesman said. Pakistan embassies in Riyadh and Consulate in Jeddah have been in contact with the Saudi officials for release and return of the arrested family to Pakistan, he added.
