Noor Muhammad Mohmand MOHMAND AGENCY - At least 12 members of traditional tribal lashkar were killed and several others injured on Saturday when Taliban attacked them in Ambukh village of Anmbar Tehsil, Mohmand Agency. The residents of the village also killed seven Taliban and injured five others in retaliation. As per details, Taliban attacked the lashkar members with modern and sophisticated weapons early in the wee hours when they were asleep. As per eyewitnesses, 12 members of the lashkar were killed on the spot. The local residents of the area in retaliation attacked the militants and killed seven Taliban and injured five others. However, there are unconfirmed reports that militants also abducted 17 members of the lashkar. The local people too made five injured Taliban hostages. Soon after the clashes, the situation all over the area became extremely fearsome. It may be mentioned that almost all clans and sub-tribes of Mohmand had established traditional lashkars against militants.
