ISLAMABAD (APP) - National Volunteer Movement (NVM) has organised a meeting at the University of Engineering, Taxila for the promotion of volunteerism in the young generation and different communities. The Director General NVM, alongwith Deputy Director (Coord) met Javed Akram, Vice Chancellor, UET Taxila on March 4 in his office at UET campus. Vice Chancellor University of Engineering and Director (Students Affairs) Prof, Tahir Nadeem agreed to give the NVM free hand for promotion of volunteerism among the university students. During the meeting different aspects of volunteerism were discussed. The mechanism regarding the registration of volunteers also came under discussion. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts and the steps taken by Shahid Hussain Bhutto, Minister for Youth Affairs/Chairman NVM for the promotion of volunteerism in the country. The V.C assured his full support to the NVM and directed the office bearers of social organizations of the students to register volunteers in maximum number and also to give them awareness about the NVM. Three hundred registration forms and brochures were also handed over the Vice Chancellors office for volunteers registration at first step. Next meeting in this regard will be arranged soon.
