ISLAMABAD - The city police here on Thursday claimed to have arrested 11 accused including a proclaimed offender from various areas of the Capital and recovered 95 wine bottles, looted items, drugs and stolen motorbikes from their possession. Shalimar Police Islamabad apprehended five persons including a proclaimed offender for their alleged involvement in lifting motorbikes, theft cases and recovered three motorbikes, two pistols, mobiles and gold ornaments from their possession. According to police, the recovered motorbikes are LOW-2173, IDB-6523 and ICT MM-883. Police said these bikes were stolen from Rawalpindi. These thieves were identified as Mehtab son of Saleem, resident of Attock and Faizan Ali, son of Liaqat Ali, resident of Haripur. Police also claimed that they have recovered one pistol from these two accused that was used in bike thefts cases. Meanwhile, a proclaimed offender Malik Israr son of Syed Zaman, resident of sector G-9/3, Islamabad was arrested who was wanted by Shaliamr police in a drug peddling case. Aabpra police arrested an accused Ashfaq Maseeh and recovered 25 wine bottles from his possession while CIA police nabbed another bootlegger Saleem Maseeh and recovered 70 wine bottles from him. Similarly, Shahzad Town police nabbed a thief identified as Imdad Hussain and recovered stolen items from him while Kohsar police arrested Ansar and recovered 800-meter electric wires from him. Meanwhile, Sabzimandi police arrested an accused Najeeb and recovered 220 gram hashish from him. Similarly, Tarnol Police apprehended a drug pusher identified as Sarwar Shah and recovered 150 gram hashish from him. Two other criminals Malik Yasir son of Abdul Qayyum, resident of Islamabad was arrested with 30-bore pistol while Rashid Mehmud, son of Salamat Ali, resident of Narowal was arrested for involvement in a theft case and mobile phones and golden ornaments were recovered from him. Spokesmen for Islamabad police said that separate cases had been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigations were underway. He said that SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan appreciated the performance of all concerned police officials and directed others to accelerate efforts against anti-social elements.
