PESHAWAR - Continuous rains multiplied problems of earthquake-affected families in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as downpour began late Tuesday night and is continued on Wednesday from time to time, which turned the weather cold.

Besides, The Met Office forecasted more thunderstorms with snowfall in upper parts of the province.

So far, it has been reported that rain is continued across the province especially in Shangla, Dir Lower, Swat, Chitral, Peshawar, Kohistan, Charsadda, Mardan, Buner, Malakand and, the badly tremors affected districts.

The constant rains have increased woes of earthquake hit-people living in the makeshift tents are being hit by the heavy downpour while victims in open air take shelters in nearby houses.

If present spell of rain continues it would certainly increase hardships of the affected people, however, in some areas, such families have got shelters with their relatives.

According to Met Office, the maximum rain was received by Dir 66 milimeter followed by Malamjaba Swat 35mm, Kalam 30mm, Pattan Kohistan 29mm, Lower Dir 27mm, Drosh Chitral 24mm and Saidu Sharif 22mm respectively.

Chitral received 22mm, Peshawar City 20mm, Peshawar A/P 9mm, Kohat 6mm, Bannu 2mm, D.I.Khan one millimeter respectively.

The Met Office forecasted more rain-thunderstorm with snowfall expected on the hills at scattered places in upper KP including Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan divisions and FATA while at isolated places in Kohat divisions in next 24 hours.
