LAHORE - A writ petition was filed in the Lahore High Court on Saturday, seeking directions for the Election Commission of Pakistan to put a ban on the slogan “Go Nawaz Go”.

Advocate Raja Zeeshan filed the petition and submitted that the slogan would cause unrest in the country. He said that the political parties and their workers were raising the slogan in the gatherings of the ruling party, PML-N.

The petitioner made the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chief Imran Khan, Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and Minister of Interior Ch Nisar Ali Khan as party in the petition.

He prayed the court to order the ECP to put a ban on the slogan by passing a code of conduct for all the political parties and their workers.
