ISLAMABAD - Making a new prediction to his supporters, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Saturday said that next general elections would take place before the next Eid of 2015.

Addressing his supporters at the sit-in venue on Saturday night, the PTI chief said that people had started understating rigging in general elections due to the sit-in. He also gave credit to the sit-in participants for the decision of the federal government to reduce the prices of petroleum products. He said that his party would pressurise the government to revise electricity tariff.

The chairman PTI asked his followers that he wanted to educate them so that no one could steal their mandate in the next elections. He said that NADRA had asked the ECP to publish ballot papers on special papers and an investigation into it would determine as to why that paper was not procured and whether or not there was any malafide intention on this issue.

“Can you imagine that Quaid-e-Azam would have gone to any other country and asked for financial assistance?” Khan questioned and added that Jinnah was the person who had sent a letter to then US President Harry S Truman that his decision of recognising Israel as state was unjust. Quaid had the courage to tell the truth, he added.

Khan once again said that he was not concerned over international media coverage as he was concerned about the people of Pakistan. Imran criticising the rulers said no one ever thought of changing internal system but always asked the International Monetary Fund [IMF] for financial assistance. He said that the reason was that they were not politicians. He said that no one knew Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif unless General Jillani picked him up for politics.

The chairman PTI said that no one could become leader with the support of army as well as financial assistance of Inter-Service Intelligence. He criticising Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) said if anyone had heard from any political and democratic party that a leader had entrusted leadership to son or husband in his/her will. He questioned the contribution of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that there was no shortcut in life. “GHQ did not make me a successful cricketer,” he said, adding that it was the struggle with which he built the Shaukhat Khanum Memorial Hospital.

Imran’s claim to embarrass

him: Pervaiz

Monitoring Desk adds: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed on Saturday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s new promise of coming into power through midterm elections before next Eid will also prove wrong and it will embarrass him.

In a statement issued from Islamabad, Pervaiz Rasheed said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif went to United States with a delegation of 10 persons. He said Imran Khan should ask Shah Mehmood Qureshi where he stayed on his visit to the US.

The federal information minister said that every claim of Imran Khan has proven wrong, adding that Khan’s newest claim of coming into power through elections before next Eid will also be disproved.

Pervaiz Rasheed said that Imran Khan couldn’t make a new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without foreign aid, how will he make ‘new Pakistan’.
