Rawalpindi - Punjab Minister for Labour & Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has asked all government departments to speed up their anti-dengue efforts on emergency basis. In a press statement, he said special attention should be paid during Eid holidays because number of dengue patients in Rawalpindi had increased after Eid holidays last year. He said keeping in view these concerns all government departments have been directed to continue their anti-dengue campaign during Eid holidays and their Eid holidays had been cancelled for this purpose.

Advisor to CM Punjab on Health Kh Salaman Rafiq said that high-risk union councils regarding dengue should be given top priority and all SOPs for such UCs should be followed strictly. He said all houses and business establishment of high risk UCs should be minutely inspected for dengue larvae on daily basis.

As mercury falls in the night, therefore the citizens should carry out indoor dengue larvae surveillance daily, Rafiq said. He said water storage containers and water tanks on rooftops should be covered properly.
