ISLAMABAD- Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Rehman Malik met Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri at his container in Red Zone area of Islamabad today.

Rehman Malik termed the withdrawal of Qadri’s legal notice to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as a good omen. He added that both leaders showed positive thinking. Malik also announced a “ceasefire” between the chairmen of the two parties. Earlier, PAT had sent a legal notice to the PPP Chairman over his comments on Tahir-ul-Qadri only to take it back after receiving instructions from the PAT Chairman.

He said that the constitution only allows mid-term elections in the country but PPP wants the federal government to complete its constitutional terms.

The People’s Party senator added that the political jirgah would take the negotiation process forward after it receives key explanations from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
