Islamabad - Spring Tree Plantation Campaign - 2015 of Capital Development Authority (CDA) is in full swing and different educational institutes, governmental and non-governmental organisations, civil society and trade associations are organising events in connection with tree plantation drive with the cooperation of CDA.

On the directions of Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal, the environment wing of the authority carried out tree plantation jointly along with members of Islamabad Leo Club, JAD Foundation and the residents of Sector G-10. On this occasion, Member Environment CDA Syed Mustafain Kazmi along with citizens planted saplings in G-10.

While addressing to the participants, Syed Mustafain Kazmi said that tree plantation is national obligation.

He told that during the current spring tree plantation drive of the authority, different species of flowering and fruit plants are being planted. The CDA was assigned a target to plant 300,000 plants but CDA in collaboration with different organisations are planting 500,000 saplings which would not only increase the green cover but it would further beautify the city.

However, post-tree plantation monitoring is crucial for increasing the survival rate of the planted saplings so that these plants could grow properly. Moreover, on the directions Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal different parks and avenues of the city would be decorated with colourful flowers and plants.

On this occasion Wafa Zainab of Islamabad Leo Club, Aaliya Harir of JAD Foundation, Jamil Bhatti and Sibtain Raza Lodhi of Crescent Lions Club, and Dr Masood Ghani lauded the efforts of CDA and said that the campaign being run by the CDA for creating awareness, importance and association with trees is commendable.
