Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue-1122) Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer has appreciated the services of 1122 personnel for saving the lives of victim of incidents and natural calamity.

He was addressing three-day disaster risk management training workshop held here at emergency services academy which was attended by officers of PES and personnel. The Rescue 1122 DG said that personnel and officers should formulate strategies to ensure minimum loss of life and property during any mishap or calamity. He particularly appreciated the Rescue-1122 Hafizabad for performing their duties with commitments while evacuating thousands of flood affectees and shifting them to safer places during 2014 unprecedented flood in River Chenab. He also distributed commendation certificates to the officers and personnel for their meritorious services during the past year.

CRUSHED TO DEATH: A young villager of Chadhranwala was killed when a speeding car hit his bike near Thathi Behlolpur.

Anwar along with his friend Basra was on the way to his village on a bike and when he reached near Thathi Behlolpur, a rashly driven car coming from behind hit his bike. As a result Anwar died on the spot while Basra was shifted to the hospital in critical condition.
