Islamabad (Online) - President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the government is working on Malakand Pilot Project, a five-year plan of action for providing not only rehabilitation and reconstruction of Malakand but also to address the root causes of extremism and militancy. He expressed these views while talking to ANP Chief Asfand-yar Wali Khan who called on him at Presidency. During the meeting, matters pertaining to coalition, law and order and security situation particularly in the NWFP were discussed. The relief and rehabilitation measures and the return of displaced people to their homes also came under discussion. The President said that Pakistan was looking for support and assistance of world community to overcome the gigantic task of rehabilitation and reconstruction of the damaged infrastructure of the displaced people in Malakand and Swat. The President said the Malakand Pilot Project would be presented to all FoDP partners for their consideration next week. The President said that the government would ensure the safe return of displaced people to their homes.
