LAHORE - Inspector General of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar taking notice of complaints against police officials for receiving illegal gratification, has ordered immediate suspension, registration of case and arrest of an Inspector of Police, besides taking strict disciplinary action against other two police officials. The IGP issued these directions on the complaints of people who appeared before him in the open kutchery here at CPO on Wednesday. A citizen Muhammad Latif alleged in his application that former In-charge of Investigation of PS Safdarabad, Inspector Adnan Butt (presently posted at Chiniot) registered a case against the brother of the applicant and afterwards received a huge money from him for negotiations between the both parties. The IG ordered the DPO Chiniot to suspend the said official, while he directed the DPO Sheikhupura to arrest him after registration of a case. Muhammad Masood alleged in the application that a Constable Nadeem Asif at CPO has taken huge money from the complainant for sending him abroad and now he was neither giving Visa nor returning him money. IG directed SSP Operations Lahore to hold an inquiry into the matter and on proving charges the said official be arrested after registration of the case. Likewise, Mumtaz Bashir alleged in his application that ASI Sadiq of PS Fazil Pur involved him in a fake case and afterwards took money from him during investigation. The IG directed DPO Rajanpur to personally inquire into the matter and take strict disciplinary action against the said official after proving the charges. Meanwhile, the IG while disposing off the departmental proceedings against the three DSPs Muhammad Akram Niazi, Shahid Razzaq Qureshi and Bilal Ahmad for showing negligence in discharging their official duties has awarded them the minor punishment of Censure.
