OUR STAFF REPORTER GUJRAT - Youm-e-Ashura will be observed Tuesday (today) cross the district. According to the district administration, Youm-e-Ashur, 10th of Muharram, would be observed with reverence, religious solemnity in the district amid tight security, as the district police have been successfully implementing a foolproof security plan to ensure peace and sectarian harmony. The district police have declared 20 points as sensitive and banned 36 religious scholars in the district during Muharram. As many as 228 Tazia, Alam and Zuljinnah processions will be taken out in the district which will pass through their traditional routes. The Zakirs, Naat Khwaans and other religious scholars would also highlight the significance of the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions who laid down their lives for the supremacy of justice and righteousness. More than 4,000 police personnel, flanked by 800 policemen in civvies, will perform duties during Zuljinnah processions. The district government has imposed Section 144 and banned pillion-riding, display of arms and inflammatory literature. The district police adopted extra-ordinary measures for protecting the processions and the rallies besides, all the quarters concerned were also directed to strictly do their job with honesty. The police have been provided with modern and sophisticated weapons to avert any untoward incident. The police will monitor the processions through CCTV cameras while the department has also been set up control room for the effective monitoring of the mourning processions.
