LAHORE A 30-year-old man who had gone missing under mysterious circumstances some 16 years ago, was recovered dead from Naulakha area on Monday, police investigators said. Police said that the man, identified as Manzoor Hussain, was lying dead alongside a road as they rushed to the spot. Some passersby spotted the dead body and contacted the police by phone. Police investigators said that the man apparently, was a drug addict. According to the police, the investigators contacted the deceased family in Sargodha district to inform them about his death. The deceaseds family told the police that Manzoor had gone missing from his native town some 16 years ago. The family had no idea about his whereabouts, police investigators said, adding, they even had no knowledge where he was killed or alive. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating. Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man was shot dead during scuffle between two people at a roadside tea stall here in Shahdara Town area on Monday evening, police said. Police investigators said that the man, later identified as Muhammad Nadeem, was taking tea at a roadside tea stall when two men, Riaz and Ashfaq, exchanged harsh words over some dispute. Eyewitnesses told the police that Riaz suddenly took out his gun and opened fire at Ashfaq, who survived narrowly but the bullet hit another man who was taking tea there. Nadeem sustained a bullet and was rushed to a nearby hospital but died in the way. The police have arrested Riaz and are interrogating him. The police have also removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy.
