LAHORE A mother of four who was rushed to a local hospital with serious burn injuries died there on early Monday, police said. It was not clear whether the woman committed self-immolation or her husband set her on fire over some domestic dispute. Resident of Pathi ground Naulakha, Kiran Bibi, was rushed to a local hospital with serious burn injuries, where doctors pronounced her dead. The parents of the deceased alleged that her husband, Tariq, set her on fire as she wanted to attend the engagement ceremony of her brother against his will. The police have arrested her husband and are investigating. The man told the police that his wife set herself on fire after they exchanged hot words over some domestic issue. He said that he tried his best to put out the fire and shifted the injured to the hospital, where she died. The police have removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy. The police have also registered the case against the husband on the complaint of Meena Bibi, mother of the deceased. Further investigations are underway.
