OUR STAFF REPORTER SAHIWAL - The District Bar Association of Sahiwal observed a strike and took out a protest rally against Nato attack on a military check post in Mohmand Agency. At least 26 Pakistani troops including Captain Usman embraced martyrdom in the air strike on last Saturday. On the occasion, the lawyers boycotted court proceedings. A meeting was also held in the bar room. It was largely attended by bar members, activists of Pakistan Medical and traders associations and Ulema. The meeting was presided over by DBA President Mailk Muhammad Hussain and addressed by PMA President Dr Mazhar Ahmad, Dr Sarfarz Ahmad, Ejaz Raza, Ziaullah Shah Bokhari, Abdul Mateen Advocate, PBC member Iftikhar Khawar, General Secretary Qasim Bashir and Nabeela Khan Advocate. They condemned the allied forces attack and termed it violation of international laws. They said that the government should get their all airbases vacated at the earliest by the US forces. They said Americas attitude towards Pakistan is not cordial, adding that she always used Pakistan for her nefarious objectives. On the occasion, the speakers also paid tribute to Captain Usman Shaheed, saying that his blood would not go in vain. He embraced martyrdom for noble cause of integrity and dignity of his motherland. They further said that the government should review its relations with America, keeping in view its national interest. They said as long as soldiers like Captain Usman are alive, nobody can harm Pakistan. Later, a protest rally was taken out from the bar room to Captian Usmans residence where they expressed their sympathies with the bereaved family over his death. The participants were holding placards inscribed with different slogans against the US and Nato.
