LAHORE - The legal fraternity on Wednesday observed strike to protest an attack on Advocate Masood Abid Naqvi and boycotted court proceedings at the Lahore High Court and subordinate judiciary as well.

The 48-year-old lawyer suffered gunshot wounds after unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at his car near Fareedkot House on Tuesday.

The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) on Wednesday called a general house meeting and demanded the immediate arrest of elements involved in targeting incidents against lawyers community.

The bar demanded the arrest of attackers of Advocate Naqvi’s incident besides condemning the killing of Rana Ashfaq Manj Advocate who was also targeted on Wednesday morning by unidentified men in Pasroor.

The bar observed the provincial and federal governments had failed to protect legal fraternity throughout the country.
