ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has directed the Civil Aviation Authority to accelerate the ongoing construction work at New Islamabad Airport site and improve coordination of various activities, as the project is behind schedule time.

The Prime Minister gave the above direction during a presentation by the Civil Aviation Authority on the New Islamabad Airport at the PM’s House here on Wednesday to review the progress of work on the new Benazir International Airport.

The Prime Minister directed Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) to speed up its work for provision of electricity for the Cargo Terminal Complex. 

The Prime Minister was informed that 45 per cent of the overall physical work has been completed so far, however nearly 70 per cent of the work on the 24 kilometre long boundary wall has been completed.
