The dengue situation is under control and so far not a single casualty has been reported in the district, DCO Amir Ijaz Akbar said.

He was chairing a meeting of the Anti-Dengue Committee here on Saturday.

The DCO informed that the health department teams conducted a survey at 66,000 places to check dengue larva, adding that insecticides were sprayed at 4,858 places to eliminate dengue larva across the district.

Amir Ijaz directed the TMOs to ensure that water should not be accumulated on roads or in all the areas in the district. EDO Health Dr Nawaz Ranjha, DO Health Dr Khalid, Gojra AC Tanveer Kashif Murtaza, EDO Agriculture Shahzad Sabir and TMOs attended the meeting.

PASSERBY HIT TO DEATH: A passerby was hit to death by a speeding bike on Jhang Road in Gojra on Saturday.

The deceased identified as a Haq Nawaz Bhatti and a resident of Ayub Colony, was crossing the road when a speeding motorbike hit him. As a result he was critically injured and shifted to the Gojra THQ hospital from where doctors referred him to Faisalabad Allied Hospital where he breathed his last.
