1st convocation of Shalamar Medical & Dental College

LAHORE (PR): 1st convocation of Shalamar Medical & Dental College was held inside the premises of the college on Saturday.

83 passed-out graduates were awarded degrees during the convocation. Chief guest Syed Babar Ali, a renowned businessman and social entrepreneur, distributed medals among the shining stars. The first position holder of the University of Health Sciences, Iqra Arshad was awarded degree and gold medal by the chief guest.

Vice Chancellor, University of Health Sciences Maj. Gen (R) Prof. Muhammad Aslam also addressed the convocation as guest of honour. The trustee Shahid Hussain said that Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences has been providing the quality healthcare services to the population of Lahore and outskirts since 1978 and now preparing the doctors and nursing staff on merit basis.

Principal Shalamar Medical & Dental College, Prof. M. Zahid Bashir congratulated the graduates. Chairman Board of Trustees Ch. Ahmad Saeed and Chief Executive Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences Brig (R) Anis Ahmed, faculty, Executive Director Shalamar Hospital Prof. Ali Kazim, doctors and parents of the students also attended the convocation.

3P Learning arranges ceremony for WEG winners

LAHORE (PR): Pakistani students shined at World Education Games 2015 by winning five gold medals in different categories. The students have beaten their competitors across the 130 countries who were participating in WEG which were organized by 3P Learning in Pakistan.

Around 30,000 students of different schools across Pakistan participated in WEG which was an online gaming competition featuring the educational games. World Education Games is a Bi-annual contest.

3P Learning arranged a ceremony for the winning team Pakistan in Lahore where different personalities from government and private sectors gave medals and certificates to all students.

The chief guest Aisam –ul-Haq, famous Tennis player, gave away the gold medals to top positions holders and praised the students for their outstanding performances in World Education Games. MPA Bushra Anjum Butt, who is also teaching fellow at LUMS, gave away silver and bronze medals. The ex-captain of national hockey team Mohammed Saqlain gave awards to grade 4 students and shared his views about children achievement.

The celebrities from Showbiz Ghulam Mohiuddin and Erfan Khoosat also distribute certificates to students. The Directors of Dr. A.Q Foundation School System also attended the ceremony and appreciated the achievement of students.

The students who got position are Sarah of Class I, Zeeshan of Class II, Abeeha of Class IV, Eman of Class VII and Ali Saud of Class 9. The winning students along with their parents attended the ceremony and share their views with the audience.

Ali Saud of grade 9 also got champion of the champions award shared his views that it was a great feeling to receive world Education Cup and champions award and it is also best way of learning while you are playing and I am proud to say that it is great achievement for all of us and it is also promotion for future education for youth.

Abeeha Fatima of grade 7 was excited and said that it was great experience to receive award in front of many other International students in Sydney and feeling proud when they said Pakistan had won the World Education Cup 2015.

Sara and Zeeshan Rashid were the youngest students who got gold medals and came from Karachi to receive their awards. Their mother said that it was proud moment for her when her kids received their Awards and appreciated their efforts.

Iffat Ahmar Program Manager 3p Learning on occasion said that these children had made proud not only their parents and 3P Learning but they are proud of Pakistan as they have raised the soft image of our country. She was of the view that these students have proved that there is enough talent in our country.

commemorates APS incident

LAHORE (PR): The initiative of Punjab Information Technology Board “Peaceful Pakistan” held a candle vigil at Army Public School Lahore on the eve of the anniversary of the tragic incident of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar. The ceremony was held to commemorate the sacrifices of valiant martyrs of APS Peshawar and show solidarity with the bereaved families of the angelic souls, who departed on 4th December, 2014. The team of Peaceful Pakistan along with students of APS Lahore lit candles, observed two minutes silence and prayed for a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.

LAHORE (PR): Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital is an exemplary institution of philanthropy, said Major General Zahid Hamid, who was heading a delegation of medical officers from Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute, Rawalpindi during a visit to the hospital.

The delegation visited different departments of the hospital. Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Aasim Yusuf apprised them of hospital’s working, performance, challenges and future plans including the establishment of Pakistan’s second Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital in Peshawar.

Kaymu hosts mentoring session for TCF students

KARACHI (PR): Kaymu.pk, Pakistan’s leading online shopping community, hosted a mentoring session for students of The Citizens Foundation (TCF), as part of the TCF Rahbar program, at the Kaymu office in Karachi.

TCF Rahbar is a mentorship program aimed at the development of youth as responsible and productive members of society. An important aspect of the program is the ‘Exposure Trip’ which enables the students to discover various professions and broaden their horizon by visiting a workplace.
