The PML-N and independent candidates clinched equal number of general councillors seats in urban and rural union councils in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils of the district.

According to unofficial results, the PML-N is leading in various places with independent candidates as runner-ups.

In Daska city, PML-N won 15 seats while independents also grabbed 15 seats, as per the unofficial results of 30 wards late Saturday night. Observers stated it to be a big setback for the PML-N in Daska city.

In Daska, four local journalists were elected as councillors in different urban wards. Local journalist Kh Atif Raza Khan elected councillor as an independent candidate in Ward No-4 Daska. Journalist Muhammad Afzal Mansha (president PML-N Daska city) also won in Ward No-23 Daska.

Local journalist and PML-N candidate Tauheed Iqbal Butt was elected as councillor in Ward No-28 Daska city. Local journalist and PML-N candidate Zaheer Nazir Chaudhry was elected as councillor in Ward No-30 Daska. In Daska, independent candidate Zafar Iqbal Dar was elected as councillor from Ward No-1 Daska by defeating PML-N candidate Ch Khalid Mehar.

An independent candidate Sami Ullah Malhi Advocate won and elected councillor in Ward No-6 Daska. PML-N candidate Muhammad Arif Bajwa (younger brother of local MPA Muhammad Asif Bajwa) was elected councillor in Ward No-29 Daska city.

Independent candidate Mian Muzaffar Iqbal won and elected councillor by defeating PML-N candidate Khawaja Abid Raza in Ward No-3 Daska city.

PML-N candidate Muhammad Imran Butt was elected councillor in Ward No-7 Daska city.

PML-N candidate Muhammad Ashfaq Wyne (former MPA from Daska) was elected councillor in Ward Galla Shaheedaan Daska PML-N candidate Muhammad Azeem Butt was elected councillor in Ward No-2 Daska.

PTI candidate Asad Ullah Randhawa won and elected as chairman of union council Kotli Noonaan, Sambrial tehsil here.

In Sambrial, PTI candidate Qaiser Ameen was elected councillor in Ward No-4 Sambrial. Independent candidates grabbed all the six seats of general councillors in union council No-22 Sialkot city. While, independent candidates clinched four out of six seats of general councillors in union council No-18 Sialkot city.

In Narowal city, independent candidates grabbed 13 seats of general councillors, PML-N won 11 seats and PTI could get only a single seat out of total 25 seats of Municipal Committee Narowal.

In Shakargarh, PML-N got nine seats and PTI and independents clinched five seats of general councillors each in total 19 wards of municipal committee Shakargarh.
