Following a comprehensive two-phase selection process, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced the appointment of Wasim Khan for the post of managing director.

Following up on an advertisement, around 350 candidates applied for the post of managing director and eventually, the list was reduced to three candidates, who were interviewed by PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani – along with Asad Ali Khan and Javed Zia.

Wasim, commenting on his appointment, said that he was delighted to be offered the challenging position of PCB managing director. “Pakistan, a country which is full of talent, is where my roots are. I will be returning to Pakistan with my family and relocating there,” he said.

Ehsan Mani welcomed the Wasim and said, “We welcome our new managing director who would be joining the PCB soon. He was unanimously selected after a rigorous interview process with some exceptional candidates.”

He further said that Wasim has fresh ideas and a deep knowledge of the game, adding, “We have started the process of revamping the PCB and under Wasim, we now have an experienced leader of the management team who will oversee the implementation of the board's decisions.”
