AHMEDPUR EAST - Bahawalpur National Awami Party Chief Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi has pledged not to compromise on the demand for restoration of Bahawalpur province.

Talking to the media at the residence of BNAP Central President Farooq Azam Malik, he thanked the federal government for proposing his name for caretaker chief minister of Punjab and Jamaat-e-Islami for its endorsement. However, he said that there was consideration before the revival of former Bahawalpur province.

 He vowed to continue his struggle for the restoration and said that he would not betray 12.5 million people of the region. He demanded that the federal government and the PML-N should table a joint resolution in the National Assembly for the amendment in the Constitution  for Bahawalpur province in the light of Punjab Assembly May 9, 2012 unanimous resolution.

To a question, he said that Bahawalpur National Awami Party would hold more protest meetings in Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar districts in this regard.

Earlier, he presided over a meeting of BNAP Bahawalpur chapter and appreciated the efforts of the party activists for organising a rally and protest meeting at Farid Gate Bahawalpur.
