KARACHI – Like other parts of the country, Kashmir Solidarity Day was also observed in the metropolis on Tuesday with zeal and enthusiasm to express harmony and solidarity with Kashmiri people, struggling for freedom from the occupation of Indian government.    

Following the federal government’s announcement of holiday, all business and trade activities were suspended in the City to mark the day with its full sanctity. Rallies and processions were held to mark the day. 

Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh has organised several seminars, processions and rallies to highlight the issue, while Jamaat-e-Islami took out Kashmir rally to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people. The rally was taken out from Jail Chowrangi to Mazar-e-Quaid. A large number of JI workers participated in the rally. They raised party flags and banners inscribed with “we support struggle of Kashmiris for freedom”, “Salute the courage of Syed Ali Gillani and Kashmiri Mujahideen” and “unjustified invasion of Indian Army in Kashmir is not acceptable”.

The participants chanted slogans in favour of Kashmiri people and against the Indian Army. JI Sindh Ameer Mairajul Huda Siddiqui, Acting JI Karachi Ameer Barjees Ahmed, JI Karachi General Secretary Naseem Siddiqui and district ameers were addressed the participants of the rally.

On the occasion, Mairajul Huda Siddiqui said the Srinagar would soon be part of Pakistan after the year 2014, adding the day of Kashmir independence was very near.

“The February 5 instead of Kashmir Day will observe as Struggle for Kashmir in upcoming years”, said JI Sindh Ameer.

Addressing the participants, Mairajul Huda said the Kashmir issue is an international conspiracy as despite passing 65 years, the UN resolution on Kashmir was being violated.

“We do not accept such type of UN which does not see the barbarism in Kashmir, Syria, Burma and other Muslim world,” he added.

He added the great JI leader Qazi Hussain Ahmed had announced to observe Kashmir Day on 5 Feb 1990 and since then the Kashmir Day is being observed to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

He informed that 0.1 million Kashmiri youth is being murdered and 1,000 women are being raped by Indian army in last 10 years, but the UN and other powers do not take any notice of this barbarism. “The conscienceless rulers in present government have given the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to India”, he added.

He further said the nation had well aware by its friend and foe, adding wthe JI leadership always come forward whenever the sovereignty of Pakistan was being challenged.

Huda added the international powers, on one hand inducing Indian Army in Afghanistan, while on the other hand they were weaken the country by creating anarchy with the help of its allies.

“We saluted the leadership of Kashmir and its people on their courage to fight for their legal right of self determination”, Huda added.

Acting JI Karachi Ameer Barjees Ahmed said the main aim of the rally was to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir. He said Kashmir issue was the issue of entire world as the whole world acknowledges the right of self determination.

“No one including who claims themselves as super power is ready to raise voice against brutal acts of Indian Army in Kashmir,” he added.

He said United States had seen only Malala in Pakistan but not seen thousands of Malalas in Kashmir.

“Not only India but the present government of Pakistan, Musharraf and US are equally responsible of injustice being continued with the innocent people of Kashmir,” he added. JI Acting Ameer said present government of PPP was not ready to follow its own leadership over Kashmir issue, as it has sold its conscience with the hands of US.

Earlier, Naeemuddin Naeem presented a song for Kashmiri people on Kashmir Day.           

ISO TO HOLD APC TO OBSERVE THE DAY: On the other hand, Imamia Students’ Organisation has arranged an All Parties Conference (APC) to mark Kashmir Day at its divisional office. The leaders of students’ political organisations, including Insaf Students’ Organisation, Peoples’ Students Federation, Pukhtoon Students’ Federation, Al Muhammadia Students’ Movement and Mustaffavi Students Movement participated.

The students’ leaders unanimously condemned the unjustified occupation of India, and said that the international community must come forward to resolve the issue of Kashmir in accordance with the aspiration and desires of the oppressed Kashmiri people.
