The dead body of another unidentified boy was recovered from QB Link Feeder Canal here on Saturday, taking the number of dead bodies of children found from different canal to seven over the past 10 days.

Identity of the boy could not be ascertained yet. Some villagers spotted the dead body in the canal and informed the police and Rescue-1122 which recovered the dead body and shifted it to the city morgue for autopsy.

It is to be noted that over the past ten days, seven dead bodies have been found from different canals in the district, of whom identity only one victim could be established. The young girl whose body was recovered from a distributary near Canal Colony two days ago was identified as Ayesha Rani, a resident of Alipur Chattha. Her widowed mother Musarrat Bibi identified her from her picture as she was buried as unclaimed.

Musarrat Bibi told the local media that her daughter Ayesha Rani used to visit a neighbour for getting stitching training where accused Usman developed intimacy with her.

According to Musarrat Bibi, the accused lured her to a deserted place where he allegedly ravished her and later threw her dead body into the canal after killing her to conceal his offence.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case but the accused has not yet been arrested.
