LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday ensured the supply of quality edible items in Ramazan bazaars under a comprehensive mechanism.

Talking to media in the provincial capital, the chief minister said that the provincial ministers, elected representatives and administrative officers were visiting Ramazan bazaars to monitor the supply of quality edibles being provided under Ramazan Package. He said that more than 340 Ramazan bazaars had been set up to facilitate the public.

The CM also guaranteed indiscriminate action against profiteers and hoarders, saying that no one would be allowed to exploit the people. He said that he was personally monitoring the Ramazan package and the facilities being provided in the bazaars.

He also directed the authorities concerned to take action against the profiteers and hoarders.

Assuring about the strict regulation of quality and fair prices, Shahbaz said that the quality and prices of essential items would not be compromised, adding that no negligence in providing relief to the people would be tolerated.

He said that the government would not allow anyone to sell items at higher rates during Ramazan.

He informed that a system of monitoring Ramazan Bazaars had been evolved and added that the people would not be left at the mercy of profiteers.

He insisted the Assembly members to conduct maximum visits to Ramazan bazaars for monitoring the facilities so that the fruits of Ramazan Package could be ensured to the people.

He said that no effort should be spared for ensuring provision of edible items in abundance at Ramazan bazaars.
