President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif has termed Accountability Courts decision about former prime minister Nawaz Sharif as "unjust and a dark day in history".

Speaking to media in Lahore Friday, former CM Punjab said, "The Pakistani nation and the PML-N reject this decision."

"Voters will make their decision on July 27. We will adopt all legal options available for justice," he said.

He further said, "There was no solid legal evidence in the entire case. This was an unfair decision."

On Friday, the accountability court judge Mohammad Bashir announced the verdict, handing Nawaz Sharif a 10-year prison term and an £8 million fine in the Avenfield properties reference.

The court also gave Nawaz's daughter Maryam a seven-year prison sentence and a £2 million fine, rendering her disqualified to contest the 2018 general elections in Pakistan.
