QUETTA Three tankers, carrying fuel for the Nato forces deployed in Afghanistan, were torched on Sunday in Mastung district, some 60km south of Quetta. According to the official sources, the tankers were on their way to Kandahar when unknown armed men riding motorcycles intercepted them in different areas of Soor Gaz, Mastung Road and near Lakpass. They made the people on-board hostage at gunpoint before setting the vehicles on fire. The tankers were badly damaged in the incident. The assailants managed to flee the scene. It may be mentioned that more than 22 Nato oil tankers using the said route have been set ablaze during the past few weeks, but no organisation has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks.
