PESHAWAR – A Jashan-e-Azadi T20 match will be played between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa XI and Punjab XI on tomorrow (August 8) at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium. Talking to media, Peshawar District Cricket Association president Syed Fayaz Ali Shah said that the federal government with the support of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has chalked out a plan to hold six matches in connection with the 68th Independence Day celebration at Quetta, Karachi, Rawalpindi and two to be played in Lahore. He said arrangements had been finalised for the match to be played at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium between Punjab XI and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa XI. Pacer Umar Gul will lead Khyber Pakhtunkhwa XI while Kamran Akmal will lead Punjab XI. Several int’l cricketers and Test players would also be part of the two teams. –Staff Reporter
