ISLAMABAD – Two-member Pakistan boxing team left for Taiwan on Wednesday to participate in the 4th Taipei City Cup International Boxing Tournament to be held at Taipei Gymnasium from August 7-11. Talking to The Nation, PBF secretary M Akram Khan said: “Pakistan No 1 and national champion Jahanzaib Khan of Lyari will contest in 49kg light fly weight, Syed M Asif of Quetta will fight in 52kg fly weight while I will be the coach and Sulman Islam will be the manager. “Organising committee of the international boxing tournament and interior ministry of Taiwan have arranged visa for Pakistan boxing team at Taipei International Airport. Sulman Islam, who is Punjab Boxing Association (PBA) president and CEO United Leather Industries and I will meet some important AIBA boxing office bearers,” Akram concluded. –Staff Reporter
