LAHORE - Quran Khwani for former The Nation Editor-in-Chief and NPT Chairman Dr Majid Nizami was held at the Aiwan-i-Karkunaan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan on Wednesday.

The gathering was held under the aegis of the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust in collaboration with the Pakistan Movement Workers Trust.

Those who attended the ceremony included Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Vice Chairman Professor Rafique Ahmad, Pakistan Movement Workers Trust Chairman Col(r) Jamshed Ahmad Tareen, Justice (r) Aftab Farrukh, Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Chief Co-ordinator Mian Farooq Altaf, Begum Bushra Rehman, Begum Mehnaz Rafi, Professor Dr MA Soofi, Maj-Gen (r) Rahat Latif, Jamil Athar, Justice (r) Munir Ahmad Mughal, Professor Dr Parveen Khan, Khawaja Mehmood Ahmad Advocate, daily ‘Din’ Editor Mian Habib Ullah, Yasin Watto, Professor Hanif Shahid, Engr Tufail Malik, Begum Hamid Rana, Saeeda Qazi and Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Secretary Shahid Rashid and a large number of people from different walks of life.

Pir Syed Kabir Ali Shah said that the vacuum created by the sad demise of Dr Majid Nizami would not be filled. He did not budge even an inch from his stance on ideology of Pakistan, Islam and patriotism, he added.

Condolence reference

Hamdard Naunehal Assembly has organised a condolence reference to pay tributes to veteran journalist late Majid Nizami on Thursday (today) at Hamdard Centre Lahore at 10 am.
