LAHORE A world famous Pakistani artist, social crusader and peace activist Jimmy Engineers original drawing work would be displayed in a group show titled 'Lines That Talk at Revivers Galleria, Gulberg on February 12. Drawings exhibition, which would also mark the second anniversary of the gallery, is scheduled to continue for 17 days till February 28. According to the curator of the gallery Sara Anjum, about 30 pieces of Jimmy Engineers original work would be displayed along with the work of other eight prominent artists of the country including Saeed Akhtar, Iqbal Hussain, Mansoor Rahi, Hajra Mansoor, Raja Changez Sultan, Chitra Pretam, Abrar Ahmad and Babar Azeemi. In the exhibition, mostly artists would display their work in the drawings format depicting faces, people, animals, places and landscapes in pretty good numbers. It is a rare opportunity that the artists, art lovers and collectors could view drawings of nine prominent artists of the country together under one roof. Talking to TheNation, Jimmy Engineer said he was proud of serving the motherland, adding he had displayed canvass prints of his selected major art work including famous Pakistan Movement series of paintings last year in Lahore after lapse of several years. He said the solo exhibition of his art work was great success as his Pakistan Movement series of paintings and the architectural compositions were greatly appreciated by the large number of artists, art collectors and art students who had visited the Revivers Galleria for this purpose. He said now he was displaying his fresh drawings of figures, faces and animals which he had done in recent months. He said he had planned a trip to the cultural hub of Pakistan, Lahore, in connection with his upcoming drawings exhibition. Responding to questions, Jimmy said his paintings carried highest price tag in the international market more than any other present and past Pakistani artist.
