LAHORE - All PIA domestic and international flights would operate according to the schedule and there would not be any disruption of flights, a PIA spokesperson said here on Sunday. He said rumours regarding strike were baseless. No agreement or MoU had been signed with the Turkish Airlines (TA), and a misunderstanding was being falsely created by the Pakistan Airline Pilots Association president, he added. The proposed code share joint venture, a commercial agreement, was subject to approval by the government of Pakistan and other regulatory authorities, he said. He said routes were not owned by any airline and therefore couldnt be sold. They were the rights of the government and were only utilised by the designated carrier, he added. PIA and TK had proposed a code share arrangement as was being done by most airlines to increase profitability and enhance routes without incurring additional costs, the spokesman said. He said all PIA employees were dedicated workers and loyal to the airline. However, a few miscreants wanted to disrupt the normal working of the airline and create problems for the passengers, he added. Such tactics would also damage the image of the airline abroad, he warned. The national flag carrier would keep operating according to the schedule, PIA spokesperson reiterated.
