LAHORE A senior traffic warden suffered multiple injuries when three accused thrashed him after he had signalled them to stop in connection with violating the traffic rules on Sunday evening. The victim warden namely Sana Ullah was deputed at Bhati Chowk when he signalled a car (RLJ-952) to stop as the car drive violated the traffic rules. They come out of their vehicle and started beating me harshly, Sana Ullah told this scribe. Meanwhile, another traffic warden Mohammad Nameem approached the site and made a phone call to Emergency Police 15 and informed about the incident. On the other hand, the accused were still beating the warden. Police, however, reached the spot and arrested the accused. The injured warden was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition was told stable till filing of this report. The City Traffic Police spokesman Ali Nawaz said a case (42/11) had been registered against the accused including Rizwan, Usman and Shahbaz under section 353 of PPC. He said Sana Ullah sustained two major wounds in his head. Further investigations were underway.
