The recent somersaults in political arena by major coalition leaders and their instant acrobatic feats show their sincerity with voters. Ever ready to take out the nation out of vicious circle of poverty through mid-term elections, they hailed to practically resolve the peoples problems. This is a tactics that has not worked since late eighties. It reminds me what Mr.Qudrat Ullah Shahab wrote that the only remedy for ailing democracy is more and more democracy and nothing else can serve as a substitute. Although democracy remained in Pakistan, mostly, in deformed shape, yet we cannot rely on any other form of government. Terrorism, the lethal weapon used to kill innocent people is the brainchild of the undemocratic era. Democracy has always led to discipline, growth and prosperity. In the present circumstances, a dialogue with government by all leading parties will be beneficial to find out a solution to most troublesome problems like energy crisis and law and order situation.
