LAHORE Three people were killed in many incidents here in different parts of the City on Thursday, police and rescue workers said. A 55-year-old woman was brunt to death as huge fire erupted at her house situated in the congested locality of Ichra on early Thursday. The fire broke out due to short-circuiting, firefighters said. Rescue workers said that Razia Bibi, the disable woman who had suffered paralysis attack years ago, was present alone in the house when the fire broke out. Her son Atiq-ur-Rehman went to drop his children at a school and his wife left the house to fetch some edibles. The local residents gathered on the scene and managed to put out the fire after one hour long hectic efforts because the narrow streets halted rescue operation and movement of fire brigade vehicles. The woman was recovered dead as the local residents ended rescue operation. Further investigations are underway. In another incident, a 55-year-old man was killed when a rashly driven car ran over him near Abdali Chowk in Islampura police area. The deceased identified as Anjum Rashid was crossing the road when the recklessly driven vehicle him, police said, adding, he died on the spot while the driver along with the driven fled away from the crime scene. The police are investigating.
