LAHORE - Chief Justice Lahore High Court Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhary has asked bar and lawyers to help in eradicating bribery and corruption in the courts as well as in the government departments working with the same passion seen during lawyers movement for restoration of independent judiciary. If lawyers start pointing out corrupt elements with a national mission they can root out the culture of bribery and corruption just in days not only in the courts and government department but also from the country CJ Ijaz Chaudhry said while talking to a delegation of Tax Bar Association (TBA) Lahore on Thursday. The delegation comprising of Tax Bar president Muhammad Ijmal Khan advocate, secretary Muhammad Aamir Nazir and other office-bearers called on the chief justice in his chamber to bring in his notice the problems faced to their bar. They also appreciated the sentiments and steps being taken by the chief justice for eradication of bribery and corruption in the courts. Talking on the occasion, the chief justice urged the legal community in general to come forward to root out corruption from courts, government departments and society at large. The chief justice said if lawyers make efforts sincerely they make can bring revolution in the society by making it fully law-abiding. The CJ also stressed on the need of earning livelihood by lawful means for children and families. He said the unlawful income and its usage is major cause of growing anxiety and depression in the society. Income coming through illegitimate means brings restlessness and worries while the lawful income gives peace, tranquility and unending calm both to us and our families, CJ observed.
