LAHORE - Secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation Asif Bajwa warned of the national team players that the federation would take strict action against those players who found violating the code of conduct of the federation. Talking to a group of reporters here at the National Hockey Stadium on Thursday, he maintained that the management of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) had contacted the federal government for the transfer of funds announced by Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani for the payment to the national team players announced after winning the gold medal in the recently-concluded the Asian Games held in Guangzhou (China). He said that the stern action would be taken against those players who were involved in making unnecessary statements against the management of the federation for not taking appropriate action against the clearance of dues which were promised by the Prime Minister and others. He also said that the Dutch coach Michel Ven Den would come to Pakistan on next month and would monitor the performance of the players in the national championship which would be held soon in near future. "The Pakistan Hockey Federation had signed a contract with the Dutch coach for six months while management is willing to extend the agreement and continue with the coach," he added. "He has some security concerns in Pakistan as he has to stay here for the next scheduled programme," he added.
