SIALKOT - Central Directorate of National Savings Director General Zafar Mehmood Sheikh said on Sunday that the National Savings was successfully motivating the people to invest in the lucrative savings schemes across the country.

He stated this while talking to the newsmen at Koobay Chak near Sialkot after inaugurating the newly established National Savings Center there along with Federal Minister for National Regulation and Services Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan.

He said that the National Savings had generated revenue of Rs1,300 billion to the government through different schemes across Pakistan during the last five years. He said that the number of the customers of National Savings has now increased to 750 million in the country.

On the other side, Pakistan Postal Services Corporation Director General Ghulam Punjtan Rizvi said that the government was making an all-out effort to make the postal services network effective to meet the advanced challenges of the modern era.

He was talking to the media at Koobay Chak after inaugurating the newly established Postal Services Office. He said that no one could deny the significance and importance of postal services in the modern era. However, the department’s upgradation on the modern lines was need of the hour, he added. There were 12,000 post offices across the country, out of which 10,000 were rendering valued services to the people in the rural areas of the country, he concluded.
