ISLAMABAD - Three labourers were burnt to death on Sunday as a result of gas cylinder blast here in a marble factory on Sunday.

According to spokesperson of Islamabad Capital Territory police, a huge gas cylinder installed in premises of a marble factory exploded with a big bang on Sunday causing burn injuries to at least three labourers working on the site.

The labourers were taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where they succumbed to burn injuries. A wave of fear has been felt across the locality following the gas explosion. Residents were under the impression that militants might have attacked the facility. “It was a huge blast that even shook the windowpanes and caused the doors to vibrate,” Altaf Ahmed, resident of Sang Jani told TheNation.
