SIALKOT - Minister of State for Finance Saleem H Mandviwala on Sunday assured a delegation of the Sialkot exporters of early release of pending grant of Rs500 million for the Sialkot International Airport.

The delegation called on him at Koobay Chak near Sialkot. Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sheikh Abdul Majeed led the delegation. A few years ago, then prime minister Gilani had announced a special grant of Rs750 million for the Sialkot Airport during his visit to the airport. Out of which an installment of Rs250 million had been released to Sialkot airport but the remaining grant was yet to be released. However, the minister pledged to make an all-out effort to ensure the early solution to all the Sialkot airport’s problems. Federal Minister Firdous Ashiq, Special Advisor to AJK Prime Minister Tahir Sultan, Pakistan Postal Services Corporation Director General Ghulam Punjtan Rizvi, Central Directorate of National Savings Director General Zafar Mehmood Sheikh, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sheikh Abdul Majeed, Sialkot International Airport Limited Chairman Muhammad Ashfaq and MPA Tahir Mehmood Hundali were also present.
